Only just joined so a VERY late reply

The RTWTD break at or before 6 hours of WORK (driving + other work) is 15 mins - it states that in the regs which are posted on page 1 of this thread

WORK does not include POA or breaks

If the total work in a shift is say 12 hours then a total of 45 mins must be taken during that shift
30 mins of breaks does not need to be taken before 9 hours of WORK in the shift above

Either it is a shift in which WORK is 6 to 9 hours or over 9 hours - not both

Now for the good bit - VOSA who are tasked with enforcing the RTWTD do not have any sanctions for RTWTD infringements in their sanctions list - that is why nobody (driver or employer) has ever been taken to task over it

I always though you could have a 15 min just shy of 6 hrs then you're next wtd break can be anywhere between 6 and 12 but not latter than 12 as you cant work more than 12 hrs with out a break

Hello as i read in my book if any driver drive 4,5 min must take 45 min break , if you working 6 hours ex- 3 h loading lorry/2.5 h driving will be account 5,5 h working but you not need to take 45 min break because you drove only 2,5 h, so you can take legal first break must be 15 min and after another 3,5 h driving you can take 30 min break/if you working 6 h working in depot and driving then must take at least 30 min break if you working less then 6 h but not drive more then 3 h then you can take 15 min break if you drive 4,5 h then you must take 45 break
